An "L" antenna is the shape, not the length. I use a 5/8 wave "L" antenna here for 160 meters. The vertical portion must be very high for it to perform properly. I keep seeing posted that a "L" anten

The only two (2) tuners that I have found that will handle high power on 160 meters, without arcing are the Palstar AT4K and the Ameritron ATR-30. Willy K3VW _________________________________________

Once again, one does not use a balun on a vertical antenna because it is an un-balanced antenna !! You use a UN-UN or an RF Choke at the feed point. Balun's are for balanced-to-unbalanced, antennas &
