I've recently used a crane to lift my Cushcraft X-7 to the top of the tower. The crane cost about $75/hr. but was worth it considering the cost of the X-7. It saves a lot of money, misery and sweat.

Is there a better way?? Don't know if it is a better way but it is an alternative. I built what could only be called a saddle out of a 4"x8". The 4"x8" was cut into 2 2.5' pieces and 2 1.5' pieces.
