Gentleman, I have just placed an offer on a parcel of land... 2 A ready for some towers. I have one concern that I hope some of you can put to rest. There is a high tension line that is 500' west of

Glenn I believe the 40 add on kit is the X940. Also I was told by CC that they were going to start to ship the X9's right about now and the 40's would follow by a couple weeks. Also very interested i

A 2-stack of 3 element monos (20 meters) with 50 foot spacing I respectfully submit the evidence suggests otherwise! Most modern longer boom tribanders are pretty efficient compared to a 3 el yagi. I

Maybe someone can tell me what I am doing wrong on this thing? I modeled a dipole for 20 at 30'. This gives me 6.8dbi at 34 degrees if memory serves me. This is 1/2 wave height which I would have tho

No I am comparing apples to apples. The plots can be overlayed and I can easily see the dipole is several DB stronger at its peak and near the verticals peak. It is something more than just this. G.

I am aware of issues related to verticals and dipoles - what to expect and not expect. I expect and saw the dipole at ~1/2W had a lobe at 34 degrees, this looks right. Its elevation beamwidth is 41.5

Thanks to you and all for the responses. I see that indeed it is what it is! I am surprised to see the differences though. A 4 Sq array seems to be tremendously louder for DX than a lowly dipole at 1
