There are a ton of variables here. An engineer will hopefully chime in. Variables: * Guy wire angle * Tower/antenna wind loading * Wind speed area of USA * Soil stability * Height above ground for gu
Oh boy! The 'solder vs crimp' rears its ugly head once again! I'll feed the fire: Amphenol 82-202-RFG and p/n 82-312 N plug installation specifies *CLAMPING* the braid CommScope (Andrew) N connector

Using a SWAG, and since the sensor isn't complex I'd look there first. Open it up and look carefully at everything under a strong light. If there is a PC board, examine both sides. Since it is off by

I'm building a 2 Yagi stack with each Yagi having 4 elements on an 8' boom, 10/15M. I can manage the side arm distance from the mast, but how much vertical height for the side itself, i.e. vertical s
How about opening/shorting the 40M feedline whilst testing 15? Drew; Any changes to your 40m antenna(s)? I have had problems in the past with 40m antennas messing with 15m antenna operation. This one
I had a similar problem with my 2040 Falcon (separate drivers and feedlines for 20 and 40). The install crew wasn't antenna savvy and managed to bend the feedpoint coil on the 20M driver enough so th
I have an old Rohn catalog that has a couple drawings for the foldover series (FK25, FK45). However the drawings do not show detail of the hinge. Does anyone have a detail drawing or photo of the hin

Respectfully, this isn't a good test. Your HT is FM and per Wikipedia, "FM rejects radio frequency interference<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_frequency_interference> better than an equal power
My bad, when I looked at the Kenwood TH6 page, it said "FM transceiver". I didn't look far enough to see it has AM and SSB RX. You are indeed correct. -de John NI0K 0.1 to 1300 mhz, AM, SSB, Works fi
I've worked with modeling software quite a bit. Using the old rules of thumb for Yagi design, wider bands, such as 10 meters, getting too far from the design frequency causes the antenna to reverse d
Dick, I don't think you have a problem with the choke, you have a problem with stray RF. Have grounded the frame of the relay box? I would suggest wrapping 10 turns of the control cable on a toroid.
