Good point. I'll look for something to wrap the end caps. Mine came with blue plastic caps. One upgrade that I did do was to get the higher power BN-4000 balun to replace the stock BN-86. ___________

The TH-7DX is sold with a BN-86. I immediately replaced mine with the BN-4000, which handles more power. I regularly run legal limit into my TH-7DX/BN-4000 without any problems, even on RTTY. _______
