Well Jim, they pretty much all say the same thing, I often wonder if anybody has tried to claim. The unit at Harbor Freight is made by Cuttler-Hammer though, so they might stand behind their product.

I agree with Bill, minimum 3", plus leave a couple of string pulls in the pipe just to make it easier the next time you need to add a cable. If you do get water that will not drain just use a Vacuum

I have the MA-40 and have put a ladder against it many times (I am 6'1" and 200lbs) with no problems, if it were to fall over with me and the ladder you would not want the tower in the first place:-)

No don't remove the bolts, they do indeed hold the two parts together and all the ball bearings. You have to hold the part with the electrical connection in your hand (that will be the fixed piece).
