ok sorry stub. Specifically adding something to a 4 element 40 to eliminate 15 meter interaction? I believe Optibeam does this not sure how they do it. Is this just using the element with a parallel
Hows this for a solution... specifically for the antenna I have ... the M2 40M4LLDD which has linear loading wires that loop back towards and come close to the vertical uprights that support them...
Hi Bob.... the parasitic elements are all DC grounded... so although I could do something possibly with the driven element it would probably not really gain me a great deal. Jim, Thanks for the comme
Just curious if anyone has experience using either of these over a number of years whether theyre eaten away one any faster than the other. Also the conductivity issue not sure if it matters all that
good point... maybe make the spacing from the tower closer to 6 or even 8'. I don't know if you can overkill it as long as you take into account the possibility of current saturation in the soil - fo
Im a bit confused by the push to connect my tower to the house power coming in direct of course ... but nonetheless connected. When I asked about ground rods from the tower legs it was stated, and I
Hi Stan and thanks, Gary here... I'm sure we're on the same page ... but... I'd take exception with some of this. First it is actually the voltage that does most of the destruction - ok - lets say 'a
Please forgive me - I'm not saying its bad practice or one shouldn't do it - just trying to understand why. Lets differentiate between what is always said "you need to connect the two together" and W
Just curious if any research has been done on angling ground rods... sharp bends in the grounding system are no-nos as we all know... and taking that right angle at the top of the rod is just that. I
Ive done a good share of towers over the years all R45 (soon that will include a 55) ... both new and used ... and Im starting to put a new tower up at my new location. This is R45. It is used. I bou
Sorry guys I wasnt clear ... the issue isnt the bolt going in the hole. I have a taper pin and I know how that is done .... the issue is the nut on the bolt! IT wont go on. It the nut, has 3 dimples
Thanks for the replies guys... so this is indeed somewhat new. My last tower, bought new in 2005, did not have these nuts. So its been since then. And Im sure others would have chimed in if it were a
I bought the bolts from Hill Radio ... theyve been working with Rohn... Rohn says theyve not changed the design of the bolts in some time and indeed it is because of the need to meet standards. THEY
My ongoing tower/antenna projects... hopefully Im not boring others out there... I had planned on burying all lines to the towers (2, one at 150 out and one at 300 out) ... at first I thought in soli
Thanks Jim, But Im not sure many would use 2 pipe... 3 minimum and Im thinking of 4 so the cross sectional area would reduce the flow/area correct? Also if at the ends where it is open that opening i
Hello to those that have the 40M4LLDD.... I believe I have found a way to eliminate the interaction of the 40 to a 15. Ive done a good bit of modeling and came up with a possible solution. Im happy t

ok I give ... why are my posts not showing up?! This is the email address I have used in the past for sending a post ... not sure why the particulars of this email would be bad or off-topic as antenn
I purchased two of these recently for a good price both in what seemed to be great shape... Im converting them to 15M6DXs ... will be range testing the conversion soon using a hex-copter and a extrem
