No no no, it is up to 12 dB they claim. Wow what a nice antenna, I just ordered two since after all they where only 350 dollars each. I will run the two as phased slopers on 80, watch out for the big
Talking about the DX blaster I just found this: Re: [hex-beam] Re: New file uploaded to hex-beam Eh OM if da reflector be resonant hit ain't a weflector..HuhUHuh!!!LOL!...Really it isn't Relectors ar
Yeah now I get a very clear vision of it all, thanks guys. However since my radio is a FT-1000D and the weight is around 55 pounds I figure I have to reinforce my operating desk, will get it done tom
However then the unknown lenght of 50 ohm cable will transform the impedance after the quarter wave section all over the place, that is if you are unlucky. Better use electrical half waves for that c
Too much speculation here and totally wrong. D4B was up on a mountain, far above the ocean, D4C is at same QTH right now you can check the web site. CN2R is not close enough to the ocean, looks like
Yes Mike, you can look at this CN2R picture. This is standing on the roof of radio CN2R takeoff towards USA http://sk3w.se/sm2ekm/view_photo.php?set_albumName=cn2km&id=PB300024 You can see the Atlant
I would not use linear loading, not high Q enough and it will make it lossy compared to good base loading. If I had a 60ft radiator I would put on top loading to get it resonant on lets say 2.6 MHz.
There is a 5.0.27 now, you might try it. _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ TowerTalk mailing list TowerTalk@contesting.com http://lists.c
No problem Bill, works fine. Nice stuff !! _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ TowerTalk mailing list TowerTalk@contesting.com http://lists

For me Google worked just fine. _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ TowerTalk mailing list TowerTalk@contesting.com http://lists.contesting
Yes. I remember a HR article by N4UH on the subject. Ham Radio magazine October 1980 page 12. _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ TowerTalk
Yes indeed, can also happen when laying flat on the ground. Too bad USA is far away since I have a big supply of RG17/218 connectors. 73 Jim SM2EKM _______________________________________________ ___
I have used and installed both as a ham and commercially many many many miles of different types of coax cable but these bumps I have never seen. This sounds like pure crap cable. Iīm sure if you wou
W1KW is wrong. It was K1KW that had the LP stacks. / SM2EKM _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ TowerTalk mailing list TowerTalk@contesting
Yes that was 18 el LPīs. K1KW Chuck had a dominating 20m signal but havenīt heard him in years. However do not forget that not only the antenna makes up for a big signal, other variables are involved
Jeez W2LU you are stubborn. It IS K1KW (ex WA1EKV) and not I repeat not W1KW. Check QRZ.com, K1KW is still listed to Charles D O Neal. _______________________________________________ ________________
Yes but donīt make it "too shiny", it will then loose a few dB on receive since it will start to reflect the incoming RF. As they use to say "there is no free lunch". Jim SM2EKM _____________________
Is there a picture somewhere how this looks, I donīt know what a 502 insulator looks like. I have to go this route myself pretty soon, if nothing else to use all the Phillystran I once did buy. Jim S
Sorry guys I just found it with Google, looks like a good way to do it. Forget what I did ask. _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ TowerTal
