The definition of electrical resonance is when the circuit reactance is zero. An antenna has zero reactance and is only resistive at it's resonant frequency. A perfect dummy load has no reactance on

It sounds like we could debate the definition of resonance for days without reaching a consensus. So let's get back to the original topic: is resonance an important attribute of a good antenna? For e

The Rohn recommended foundation is 4'x4'x4' (3.5' below ground) for 25G freestanding towers. However, according to the 2004 Rohn catalog, 40' of freestanding 25G is only rated for 1.5 sq. ft. of ante

I'm trying to figure out why you want a separate 2 el 40M beam when the SteppIR DB-18 already has 2 el on 40M. 73, Clay W7CE _______________________________________________ __________________________

When comparing antennas, you can't just look at the maximum gain, you also have to consider take-off angle. When you add the highest yagi to the lower stack of two yagi, you will have a lower take-of

I agree with Roger. the 3el SteppIR is a lot of wind load for a Ham IV without a thrust bearing. Look at the W9IIX RM-16 Antenna/Rotor mount for an idea of how to do this: http://www.w9iix.com/ii0001

Pete, thanks for pointing out the Custom Metalworks side mount. I wasn't familiar with that one, but I agree that looks like a much better solution, especially for a heavy yagi like the 3el SteppIR.
