I received small open metal sleeves with the Rohn-supplied EHS Big Grips. I'm not sure what metal they're made of, but I think it's steel. I received black cable ties with the Phillystran guy grips.

Jerry, I believe the idea is to ensure that there's not a voltage differential between the top and bottom of the coax. If there is, a charge could travel from one end to the other, damaging the coax.
