When I tried to turn my 3 EL SteppIR beam this morning the rotator wouldn't turn. I could hear that the brake was releasing ok, but the antenna wouldn't rotate. Off and on lately, but not frequently,

After 2 1/2 years, no malfunctioning problems here either, winter OR summer. Subjectively beats my earlier tri-bander beams without qualification. Great antenna. One has to use one to appreciate one.
