This doesn't sound like a good idea to me. I use that small RS type mast that you can also pick up at hardware stores cheaper, and cut it to size, drill some holes for u-bolts to attach it to the tow

Ed, K4SB had an article in a magazine back in the late 70's when he was K4DJC. He added a mast on top of the tower with a rotating fixture so he could get any wire antenna 25 feet above the tower rat
