Ive been using the Cushcraft A50-3 for about a year. Run 500 watts, mostly with ft8 duty cycle. Works as well or as poorly as 3 elements on 6 ft. Boom should. Construction is not heavy duty. SO-239 s

Both G0KSC and YU7EF publish designs for 4 element OWA (direct, 50 Ohm feed) on roughly 8.5 foot (2.35 - 2.40 meter) booms. A quick estimate is that one could modify the A50-3 to one of those designs
