Hello-   I preparation for installing 2 of 45G towers 130' each, a while back I bought the required quantity of leg bolt kits #45JBK from a Rohn dealer sold as a Rohn product. These were supplied wit

Byron - see if you have a local Fastenal or Grainger type store. They should have what you need. I'd think the "2-3/8" part isn't critical. 2-1/2" should be fine on the 5/16" bolts as well. You might

I've never seen a "staked" nut for R25 through R65 tower bolts in my 45+ years of putting them up. Something the "new Rohn" is doing? Probably not going to find them locally but perhaps. Just looked

We had a local back in the Boston area who put up 120' of Rohn 25. He didn't know about Rohn putting the bolts in the tower legs so he went out and bought stove bolts. The tower didn't make it throug

So what was the cause of the failure? I'm assuming water backed up and froze in the legs, splitting them?  It wasn't due to the stove bolts failing, was it? 73, Gary K9GS -- Original message --From:

I think you would have to be creative. The book says the guys need to come down 96 feet from the base. From just looking at it you would need 144 feet for the guy wires in one direction. An acre is 2

Not quite, but close.. 100x100 ft is about 1/4 acre, so that puts the guys 70 ft out (assuming they were in the corners of the lot, and the tower was in the center). That is, the guy anchors distance

Ouch!     But I'm not following you. What exactly was the failure mode? High winds? Ice loading? I'm skeptical that is was because of joint bolt failure.     The top ends of 25G legs are swagged

40 years ago there was a guy in the South suburbs of Chicago that had at least 100 ft of Rohn 25 up on a very small lot.  The guys were almost vertical.  He had something like a TH6 or a 204 BA on it

Usually a house is in the center of the lot:) You can have an anchor distance less than 80% however not this short and especially not with Rohn 25 as described in W1KSZ's post. I think that the incor
