I just replaced my rotor (with a HAM-IV) on the bottom of my US Tower 55 flagpole with a SteppIR on top. The old rotor was off the tower for a few weeks and I suspect the wind blew the beam a little.

Dave, In the past I've had that problem and was able to re-calibrate the rotor in the shack to show true North when the beam was pointed true North. Only problem was that then I had lost that 30-40 d

Being that the rotor is at the bottom of the US Tower - why can't you loosen the rotor clamp, set the rotor controller (with the rotor hooked up to north then manually rotate the pole (form the groun

Dale, Most rotor controllers have an offset for true north vs magnetic north. Why don't you just adjust this parameter? 73, Les VE3NNT I just replaced my rotor (with a HAM-IV) on the bottom of my US

There is a bearing that holds all of the weight. I installed one of these poles last summer - rotation from the ground was easy - to perfectly line up the antenna with the rotor. 73 Tim K3LR --Origin

John, I don't understand why you think it isn't right. The magnetic north offset is a fixed offset for a given location. If your correct offset is let's say 10 degrees and you have a misaligned anten

Simply put, the Hy-Gain controller does not have a correction for magnetic north and the Hy-Gain rotators have only 360 degree rotation. If the antenna is 30 degrees off alignment and one adjusts the
