It works better to use a sleeve that fits on the outside. If you insist on an inside piece, note that "2 1/2 inch" PVC pipe has an OD of 2 7/8 inch. 3 inch irrigation tubing, with the standard 0.050

I should have said the irrigation tubing has a 2.900 inch ID and the PVC pipe has a 2.875 inch ID. Ideally, it slips inside with 12.5 mils of clearance. In practice, sanding may be necessary. YMMV. T

I use a 12" piece of 2.5 in aluminum conduit as a joiner. I drill and tap for eyebolts for guys. OD is 2.875 and is a loose fit into 3" .050 wall irrigation tubing. 73, Roger ________________________
