I have a phased set of four 2 meter Yagi's that I tuned using the gamma matches on the antennas the best I could. Now that the antennas are 90 feet in the air I have a slight SWR problem at the input

Hi Drax, Some thoughts. Those SWR values at the TX end of a feedline indicate a significantly higher SWR at the antenna, which in turn suggests that something is wrong up there. Or perhaps somewhere

Hello Drax The measurements of SWR that you have recorded suggest that something is quite severely wrong with your array. I'd hazard a guess that one or more aerials has become disconnected, or that

What does this mean: "I tuned using the gamma matches on the antennas the best I could" Did you have trouble obtaining a 1:1 match? You can check and adjust the impedance of a single antenna though c

I found the problem. Torn cable into coax. Must've snagged. Thanks guys. Odd that damage only showed as a 2.0:1 mismatch! Sent from my iPhone _______________________________________________ _________

Remember that any SWR will be reduced by loss in the line. That can be significant if the line is long enough and the frequency is high enough. Great that you found the problem. 73, Jim K9YC _______

guys. It depends on which conductor was torn. A torn center conductor is usually quite dramatic: everything stops. On the other hand, a torn shield can often cause only a moderate mismatch because t
