Given the similarity of name to Copperweld (which is a tradename), is it aluminum clad steel wire? This stuff is very common in electrical transmission and distribution (although in larger sizes it'

I've never heard of aluminum clad MIG welding wire. Bare or very thin copper flash over many steel alloys are common, flux cored and solid. Not enough copper thickness to be useful for antennas. Soli

On my C-4XL, I use 0.0808" diameter 1100 aluminum wire. It fits the holes in the clamps nicely.  I bought a 1 lb spool from McMaster-Carr for about $20 (pn 8904K85). vy 73,Bryan WA7PRC ______________

If the loading wire is also an element truss I would be concerned about using such soft aluminum. John KK9A _______________________________________________ ___________________________________________
