Jerry, I had a C3 up for 10 years and while the ubolts were a bit rusty, they came apart just fine with a little WD-40. I do live in a dry climate which has something to do with it I'm sure. cycle-24

The big deal is removing and replacing the antenna, not the time or cost of a few replacement parts, so I would try to defer the NEXT R&R as long as possible. Therefore, I would use all the new parts

I would not use zinc plated hardware outdoors unless you have no other option. You can buy galvanized u-bolts and nuts or stainless steel ones at a number of places such as MSC Direct or McMaster Car

Hi Jerry,   On my C-4XL, I replaced the element-boom u-bolts with SS. Of course, I used antiseize on the threads. I've done that in the past on other yagis, and the hardware was purrrfect years later
