When I used that brand of rotator, I always kept a spare to switch it out. Of course, I didn't buy brand new ones either. There may be a stuck brake. Do you hear the noise of the brake release? Maybe

A local ham friend had the same thing happen. He found that one of the screws at his lighting rotator arrestor box had come loose. He tightened all screws and it now works. I'd suggest you check all
