I bought the base from MFJ and paid the freight. It was worth it. The base 'ears' have to be JUST right or you will not get the bolts through those holes. Be sure to find the drawings on the concrete

That was my biggest worry when I lifted the tower into position with the crane: will the bolt holes line up?? (They did and perfectly, too). I dug a 4 x 5 x 9 hole here and dropped the obligatory DX
