Hello All, My ICE 419 bandpass filter has developed high SWR on 10 meters only!! I seem to recall there was a cap or two that went bad in some 419's... Any help or info on this would be very much app

ICE 419 capacitor values are attached. In your case, it is probably the two 270 pf on the radio side (usually not the antenna side) that have failed. I recently replaced W7WW's 10 meter caps with thr

I've had nothing but trouble with the two 419As I bought several years ago. I'm guessing that the caps are simply under-rated for dissipation, because it's common for them to fail with only 100W at 2

I've never had a failure of my 419's, but plenty with my old Dunestars. One thing that can cause a lot of problems is running a tuner on your radio into a bandpass filter...especially if you have a b

I run low power rtty contests with a dunestar 600 and an ICE419, 100watts heavy duty cycle. I have popped the caps on the 20M section in the ICE419 a couple of times. At least they are easy to get to

I guess the only correct answer is to have an antenna tuner outboard of the amp thus, all equipment should see a proper load with minimal SWR. This is the way I run mine and have had no problems. The

I have used Dunestar 600 band pass filters for many years. I have made tens of thousands of contacts using them running up to 150 watts and I have never had a failure. The manual clearly states to co

I have not noticed any issue with the Dunstar except on the high end of 80m (75m) phone where the input SWR increases. I have not damaged a filter going up there (which only happens on rare occasions

The owners manual for my Alpha specifically states to NEVER use the radio auto tuner when using the amp. Probably for the same reason. -- 73, Gary K9GS Check out K9NS on the web: http://www.k9ns.com
