I have seen this very thing done. Basically, you need some sort of extender (if you're talking about US Tower, they sell such a device) so that the summit of the inverted V clears the tower sections.

If I might add to Ian's contribution, the "Bungee cord" was in fact heavy duty elastic mooring rope, with the anchor pulley's, obtained from my local yacht chandlers. John. G3JVC/GM3JVC. ____________

I had a need for that. The center of the Vee was supported by the crank-up tower. I installed two 47' push-up masts, one on each side of the tower. Then I used a pully and rope with a weight on each

If you're worried about wind, then take another look at the W0IBM solution. The tubes were such that the weights and ropes were enclosed. At max height, most of the rope was exposed, but the weights

Two ways of doing this. I use a side arm from W9IIX with a pulley at the end making sure that I am 5 or 6 feet below that top of the tower (either crank up or fixed). If the tower is not over loaded
