It appears that the balun on my TH-7 has died. Can someone please tell me if this is a 4:1 balun....the Hygain manual is silent on this subject as far as I can tell. thanks, 73, Phil W5BVB __________
It never ceases to amaze me how much basic technical information is NOT in product manuals. 73, Marsh, KA5M It appears that the balun on my TH-7 has died. Can someone please tell me if this is a 4:1

The feedpoint is 50 ohms for the TH7DX. So you need a 1:1 balun. There are lots of replacement options. 73 Tim K3LR It appears that the balun on my TH-7 has died. Can someone please tell me if this i
If its feeding a dipole type antenna, which your antenna is, you need a 1:1balun. 1:1 matches 50 ohm coax to the dipole element, which is near 50 ohms. If it is a dual driven element then use a 4:1 b
Hi Ray, yes, that is true as to the dual driven element KLM/M2 antennnas. But the THx series uses the older BN86/newer BN4000 units, which are 1:1. 73 de Billy, AA4NU ________________________________

I suggest a W1JR style 1:1 balun. Work well and very efficient. Just my opinion. 73 de Steve, NR4M Sent from my iPhone _______________________________________________ ________________________________

It's a 1:1 balun. Chances are there are corroded connections inside the box due to the steel rivets used in assembly. I opened the plastic case and repaired mine....taped box back together...been tha
FWIW, I used a BN-86 balun on a TH7 for 30 years at 1.5 kW SSB and CW, with no problem at all. I did not operate RTTY or AM. I also never accidentally tried to load up the TH7 on 40 meters, which I k
