No experience with wire rope on nylon, but you might consider the UV degradation of nylon as a drawback, particularly since one segment of the sheave is exposed for long periods. (assuming you leave

I have a old EZ-way tower (RBX-50) and NO WAY would I use any kind of plastic/nylon pulley on that lift system!!! Sure, the nylon might carry the load when new, but nylon eventually will get brittle

I have seen Nylon pulleys with wire used on small sailboats with low stress on the pulley but never in a high stress application. I too would be concerned with UV degradation with lengthy exposure. A

I looked at those a few months ago and I would not use them even if they do meet requirements. I agree with N0TT, they would probably not last long in the WX. 73 Buddy WB4M I'm in the process of refu

Hi Tony - Some time ago I tracked a 60 foot pole. It worked fine but then I "inherited" a tower. I haven't seen the track/ "carriage" you reference but it sounds like a good starting point. However,

The problem I had with these was that the pulley wheel edges wore/rusted/pitted away. Normally the shape is concave to keep the wire rope from jumping the wheel and getting the stuck between the whee
