Guys, Reviewing the wireman's "Loss Graph for Matched Transmission Lines" chart, and I noticed #12AWG Twin Open Wire, as having the lowest loss by a long way. I guess I have never seen Open Wire as s

Hi Eric, Several wire spacings, and you need to twist the line at small fractions of a wavelength to minimize pickup and radiation at higher frequencies. Nothing other than radiation losses at high f

The open wire line, expecially with the larger spacings, has the tendency to radiate, mostly in the higher bands but at certain amount also in the lower ones, expecially when the load is not matched.
