- Mike, Some oldtimers used to say to just put your belt on and use a painters mitt and paint-not particularly pretty (the tower or you) but it does work. Only other option might be to paint the tower

- By the way ... Easy way to paint is with a sheepskin covered mitt. Just dig in the bucket and wipe away ... No one will judge the job for neatness (like paint on guys, etc) just don't do home, autos,

- I 2nd the painting mitt option... I buy them on fleaBay A gallon can for me was clumsy. I make my own out of the 3lb plastic wide mouth coffee jugs. I made a wide 1" wide X 1/8" thick J hook. I duck

- Lowes, HomeDepot, and probably many other places sell a hook that you can hang your paint can on a ladder rung for not much money which would probably have helped you out. One end clips to the paint
