Martin, I can comment on your plan to use relays to short out the inactive drivers. It adds unnecessary complications. I do agree that it is essential to short the inactive driver elements, but that

What I would recommend is mounting the quad like a "+" rather than a "X" and then you can support the coax and feedpoint properly with a spreader arm. To me this is the logical way to do it plus it h
