Try broken ground wire in the circuit because you could get false readings thru the coax return unhook feed coax and check ohm's on the wires if you have to much resistance there's your problem to sm

In almost any installation the wire gauge is limited by mechanical worries, and not conductor size. 2500 feet of number 20 copper is still good as long as it isn't broken someplace along the way. 73
