This is a popular solution, but these are not true connectors, but come only as pigtails that must be spliced onto the cables. The splices must then be waterproofed. What I decided to do instead was

I recommend 6 or 8 pin automotive trailer connectors. They are heavy duty and do not require soldering. You can get the WX proof kind with the rubber cover, However, I would still recommend taping th
