A good old fashined electric arc might do the trick and getting it fired up. Arc welder or even a few 12 volt car batteries wired in seris may do the trick. If I understand your problem corectly. Joe

Just pack the dirt up around the bottom. It'll do fine whether clay or sand. I've gone through 30 some just packing the dirt in the trench up under the ceramic and against the rubber seal. Roger Hal
