In planning a tower for my site, The idea came up to mount my 2m verticals on side mounts. The question I have is when I do mount a vertical on the tower, can I mount the antenna upside down so that

Sure. The only thing to be REALLY aware of is water migration. Since the antenna isn't designed to be mounted inverted, you'll have to seal everything REALLY well and provide water runoff paths. Vapo

I've seen 2 M J-pole antennas mounted "upside down" on a offset mount near the top of a tower. Since the J-pole is essentially a 1/2 wave vertical, end fed, the radiation would be the same in either

The only time I ever saw a ground plane in an inverted position,that was installed thaty way on purpose, was at the top of Haleakala on Maui(KH6). Elevation 10,000 ft.The reason it was installed that
