I expect to put up a Force 12 C3E soon. Does anyone have any experience with the C3 40 meter add-on dipole element? Does it work and is it work the extra $ and effort to add a 37 foot element? Thanks

element? YES! I recommend it highly. A 40M rotatable horizontal dipole is a great antenna. Cheers, Steve K7LXC TOWER TECH

I have always heard: `80 & 40 meter dipoles have such small nulls that the direction there orientation is not important,' and I have been told: (about 40 meters) `you can talk to any place in the st

You are right about HIGH ANGLE close in signals. Rotating it does not make much difference. There IS a difference at low angles. You WILL have a dickens calling stations in EU if your rotatable 40m d

The pattern null depth off the ends depends on antenna height. At 1/4 WL (35 ft on 40M), there isn't much pattern. At 1/2 WL (70 ft) and greater, there is a discernable pattern which varies with take

You get a reasonably efficient antenna (a horizontal dipole is better than a sloper or other compromise wire dipole configuration) plus you also get nulls off the ends so you can turn the antenna and
