When you use the Cadweld steel cap, the rod will not mushroom at all. The cap does, but that's no problem. 73, Dick WC1M

I personally just let the tops of my ground rods mushroom and then cut the top three inches or so off and then affix the CadWeld form. Phil KB9CRY
