Hi, First, please reply direct with your comments. I am going to be adding a 222mhz transverter to my station and would like to hear opinions pro/con from users of the DEMI 222-28 and Elecraft XV222.

Doing just a quick on line price check, the Elecraft XV222 is $369.00 as a kit, the DEMI as a kit is $295 and $395.00 fully assembled. I chose to spend the additional $26.00 for a pre assembled DEMI.

BTW, even if you do get the chance to operate with a transverter, I would still go with the HT and a good antenna for FM. There are stations in this area at least who have FM capability but not SSB,
