There's usually plenty of CQ'ing on the calling frequency. CQ'ing off the calling frequency (I usually use .230 or .235 when I'm roving) has gotten me very FEW contacts from people who weren't lookin
I agree about the dismal support. A year ago I loaded my January VHF+ contest logs (as a rover -- splitting out the locations was a pain) and found that tqsl would not accept QSOs on 902mhz! I experi
Despite the temptation to grab 6m & 2m, go to a remote grid and bet on 6m Es, I'm going to load up all ten bands and hit the roads for the contest. I'm hoping to pick up 2 more grids towards CSVHFS V
But isn't the grid multipliers a form of distance scoring? If you can only reach out 100 miles, you can only get about 9 grids. When you can reach out further, you can collect more grids. Es and Auro
Do you call the rover on their hangout frequency? How long have you listened on their freq? Due to a variety of excuses, one of my limitations is electrical power, so I don't put out a continuous CQ

Didn't the scoring system used to be like that? That in every grid a rover worked from, every grid they worked to was a new multiplier. The scores were huge - and those huge scores contributed to clu
