I wasn't expecting much for the 6 meter sprint-just figured that I would make a couple of local contacts. Boy was I wrong. I saw K0YW spotted a few times, so figured I would turn on the 6 meter rig.
Does this mean that the reflector is broke? http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/vhfcontesting __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Protect your identity with Yahoo! Mail Address
Had a nice little Es opening to Florida sunday afternoon/evening. Worked EL86, EL87, EL96, with good signals. Guess Mexico was in here later, but was out of the house at that time (good cause of Eski
Well said Mike. I can't see how the new point rules encourage anyone to add more bands. Since a 2.3G QSO would count the same pointwise as a 6 meter QSO, I would do better making a few WSJT skeds tha
So does this mean I have to run every single minute of the contest? If I don't, I am missing the objective because I am not working as many stations as possible. Or suppose that I hear a station call
As someone who has been VHF contesting for 15 years now, as a little gun, I have finally got around to offering my ideas on this proposal. First I want to thank the ARRL for taking the time to study
Here are the rest of my thoughts on increasing activity on the VHF/UHF bands. If the ARRL really has this as a goal, they need to look at revising their own educational program. I recently finished h
Another part of the problem is that many hams are not interested in contesting, or in operating in general. Look at most local clubs. How many members actually show up to FD and operate. Many don't s
I would get excited if I worked a scheduled QSO on 432. I must be a real little pistol. 73s John NE0P http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/vhfcontesting http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/li
Hi Fred, It seems like it would be much more than that. I could work the first rover 24 times while I am in grid square 1 (4 x 6 bands), as he goes through all 4 grids. I could work him 24 times whil
I disagree with this one. I believe that the ARRl loves VHF more than anything else, as long as it is FM or packet. Other than that, I couldn't agree more with your statements. I feel the whole grid
And how about the people who quit this contest because they don't like the rule change. or even quit the ARRL along with it? First off, what evidence is there that limiting the bands to 432 or 1296 a
What would be a benefit to dropping the contest? 73s John NE0P http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/vhfcontesting __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail - More reliable
I have a pair of amplifiers that might work great in someone's contest setup. Here is what I have: 1. Mirage B1016-brown and white faced Mirage in excellent condition. 10 watts in for 160 plus out. C
Recent life events have made me consider station reconfiguration, so I have the following VHF/UHF items for sale. I would prefer not to ship the antennas, but can deliver them to Hamcomm next weekend
Here are the antennas I have left for sale: 70cm Beam $75.00 M2 440-18 (only 1 year old). 18 elements on a 11 foot beam. These sell for $150 new. HF beam $190.00 Cushcraft MA5B, 20-10 meters on a 4.5
I am looking for a used Cushcraft A27010 dual band yagi if anyone has one they are looking to sell. Might also consider the M2 or MFJ models. 73s John NE0P __________________________________ Do you Y
Oh they will definitely save 2 meter FM and packet. http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/vhfcontesting __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Vote for the stars of Yahoo!'s next ad
Not much in way of propagation here. We did have a 30 minute opening at the beginning of the contest into MD and FL, but only the big gun stations were coming through. There were hit or miss openings
SHould they go through and pass these stupid changes, I will participate in the June 2005 VHF contest, but will not submit a log, and will write the ARRL and state why I am not submitting a log. I wi
