Good and valid points by yourself and W9RM, but.... Low activity is low activity and even worse when low activity is low local actviity. No mode will cure the shear lack of stations active on the air

Great question, Ken. The answer is in what is lacking from ARRL and CQ rules: mode-based QSO differentiation. Said another way...a QSO is a QSO without regard as to the mode on which it takes place.
