Yes. As long as the mode is legal where you are and you aren't interfering with an on-going QSO, who cares? Yes, there is probably a bandplan, but you'll be lucky to find another station at all, so .

Hi Patrick, I would say, "Just get on and do it" :) Don't worry about the frequency that you use; just stay out of the beacon portion of the band, find a clear spot on your bandscope, and go to it. H
