The problem is WL is detecting an incompatibility between your wav files. Did you use different applications to record the wav files? The sample rate and bit size must be the same for all recordings.

John, V10.what? How old is your CD? Starting with V10.56 in Oct. 2005 a full install uses the .msi file and Microsoft installer. If your CD is earlier than this it will not work with your Windows XP

WELL CALL ME STUPID!! I found the answer in the WL archives immediately AFTER sending the missive below. The IC-706 hex code is 48H and all versions of the 706 must be set to this code to work in WL.
