I think I have it figured out. It appears I need to place a small transistor on the DTR line from the Com port to the keying jack. By doing that, i should be able to do everything from the same port.

Ok, That was the FIX. I installed a 5k resistor from pin 4 on the serial cable to the Base of a NTE-123A transistor. I then connected the Emitter to pin 5 ( ground). In did not cut the wires in the S
