I am fairly new to Writelog. Is there an archive about using WL with two Icom radios with one CT-17 on a single serial port? Chuck W5PR _______________________________________________ WriteLog mailin

Chuck I believe WL doesn't support that construct at the present time. I know Logic6 does, so it can be done. Ric KV1W _______________________________________________ WriteLog mailing list WriteLog@c

No, you can't do that. I use a CT-17 to connect the PW-1 and PROII, and this is one WL radio. For the other radio, I use another serial interface cable to com port. _________________________________

Ric is 100% correct. I believe W5XD stated several years back this was a very low priority upgrade to WriteLog as it will only impact a small number of users. Wayne, correct me if I misstated this. 7

DX4WIN version 6.02 does this very nicely. I am surprised by the comment I noticed that ICOM users are a minority. Maybe we are not the majority, but I would think we are a significant set of Writelo

Hmm, I would think there would be enough Icom radio users out there to justify writing software to support this. My 2 cents worth. 73 Jay Jay Hainline KA9CFD EN40om Colchester, IL ka9cfd@arrl.net htt

Wayne has to weigh the needs of the many against the needs/wants of the few. If enough people request multiple ICOM radio support via a single CT-17, then it will bubble up his priority list. However

As one with two Icom rigs and a CT-17, I would clearly like to see this implemented in WriteLog like it is in Logic. If this applied to every Icom owner who uses WriteLog it might be a high priority

implemented in WriteLog like it is in Logic. Count me as a LONG time 2 ICOM user, who sold his CT-17 early on, once I learned I could build interfaces for <$10. 1 rig per COM port works fine for me.

I view this as a trivial software design. You have the two radios on different addresses and both are set to transceive. When you swap radios, you swap addresses you control but you could still liste

May not be a question of whether it can be done but rather whether it is smart to do it. I wonder how many combinations of CT-17/no CT-17, one icom rig/two icom rigs/ on the CT-17 or not on it, two i

Actually - a CT17 is NOT needed as ANY interface would work - just hook the radio inputs in parallel using Y cables. I CT17 simply has 4 jacks in parallel. But there really isn't a need for it as add
