- Personally I wouldn't consider the radios you mention to be an upgrade to the FT-920. They are really in the same class. For something better I would suggest the FT-1000MP/D, TS-950SDX , IC-775 or so

- If it were me I'd buy the Yaesu. Yaesu service and support is superior to Icom and I've had many problems with Icom radios in the past. My experience with the IC-211 would be enough to swear off Icom
