Will placing choke in the ground return work with a swing choke input resonant choke supply like this? don't know the answer, just asking and may be remembering wrong about the supply configuration.

It only matters if you are using cw qsk. If you are using vox control for cw or ssb or a ptt/foot switch the switching time already creates the delay. The voltage and current levels are fine. Dave W7
