the 572 is pretty much a drop in replacement for a 811, BUT you can buy 3 brand new 811's at ameritron, for about $50 or buy 1 572 for $60. most rigs can not use the extra "room " available in the 57

I am just curious, but I have personally cared for the D-104 mic setup. I have had several over the years and currently have 2, one set up for a swan three drifty, and the other set of for my Orion.

Listening on 260 KHz with my ORION II tonight and heard KSL5 radio in Utah which broadcasts on 1160 KHz. That would be 900 KHz below their broadcast frequency. I'm curious about this and wonder what
