My experience tells me that there is a concernable difference in ones ability to audibility and accurately "zero beat" a given signal. Unless one can observe the difference in beat of the two signals

I bought 2300 feet of lmr 400 for 600 bucks delivered, I buy rg8x for 85 bucks per 500 feet, and still have 300 feet of rg59 on hand for matching stubs etc., and have some rg178 for pass through stuf

and I have yet to find a way to feed a beam direct with ladder line.. I mean when you turn the rotor the line touches the mast on the beam and screrws up the ladder line with metal too close.. tom N6

I just received one of the traded-in Orion I's last week from Ten Tec (that someone traded in for an Orion II). I really love the radio so far! One thing I was wondering about is the monitor funtion.
