George, If your problem isn't solved, my "simple mind" may see a simpler solution. I would wire a stereo plug on the mono phones as it shows in the manual and eliminate the extra box and cord. My RF

I use good external speakers on all my rigs. I have a lot of hearing loss form stuff overs the years so I find that 7 or 11 inch metal cased rca or realistic speakers or even those old stereo speaker
