Regarding the tuning when going from CW to SSB, I have an 80M (and a 160M, 2 separate antennas) 4 square (per ON4UN) using single raised radials on each element about 15' up using the DX Engineering

Tim, If you'll look at page 46 and 47 of this 1969 Andrew catalog (link below), it mentions the 900 series antenna and seems to match your description. I wouldn't think there would be a lot of value
