I renew my suggestion than items be described in a verbose way rather than by a bare model number (i.e. Remote VFO for Corsair II) rather than just a model number. I'm sure I have seen items come and

This is NOT a diagnosis but a possible avenue of investigation. The early Astron RS35 had a problem with internal grounding (actually the lack of it). If your Astron is old, it may help to follow Ast
