More specifically, re: the capacitor question on the L7...... the original supply used 4x 200mfd at 450 volts on each leg of the doubler. This was a capacitance per leg of 50 mfd, at 1800 volts. MY c

Well, I did a swell job of getting the PS circuit boards all put together, and mounted, double checked everything, fired it up on 220ac, and the plate voltage showed at about 1700 or so. Looked at it

The triple checking my work answered the question of what happened to the caps. In a display of dumbassedness, while jumpering some circuit boards I was using, I did it in a way that left only two ca

Just received a "new" L-7, which seems to have the following issue(s). 1. The load capacitor initially made a scraping noise, and was clearly misaligned physically as it would only mesh i one directi

Thanks for the suggestions to date. I have made a little more progress Using a good light source, the existing caps look fairly bad. The one with the lead cut loose measures a dead short on the VOM,
